UCLA Players are Released and Return to United States

The three UCLA basketball players detained in China on suspicion of shoplifting are headed back to the United State following the intervention of President Donald Trump with Chinese president Xi Jinping.

Staff for Delta Air Lines confirmed the players had boarded a Delta flight from Shanghai to Los Angeles.

“What they did was unfortunate,” Trump told reporters in Manila, adding the response from Xi was terrific. LiAngelo Ball, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill, all 18-year old freshmen, had been detained in China since last week and could have faced long prison sentences. Trump raised the issue during a dinner on his visit to Beijing.

How UCLA deals with this once they return is the next big issue.
